About the Role
Experiences You’ll Gain:
*Perform practical physical exams and talk about patient history
*Find treatment options with the help of experienced veterinarians
*Assist in surgeries and procedures with veterinarians
*Perform and interpret radiographs with veterinarians
*Assist with dental work
*Perform learned skills such as placing catheters, giving injections, skin scrapes, aspirations, etc.
*Assist in performing ultrasound with a board-certified internal medicine specialist
What You’ll Learn:
*Learn a practical approach to performing physical exams and talking about patient history.
*Learn the art of communicating with clients in a way that fosters trust and a relationship that allows you to provide the best care for the patient and client.
*Learn to create diagnostic plans that provide a comprehensive assessment of a patient to establish a diagnosis.
*Learn how to break down a problem or concern and communicate it effectively to the client while also being able to explain the proposed plan to the client.
*Focus on the value of making evidence-based recommendations consistent with the latest clinical studies, and how to perform the most common surgical procedures in general practice with a high degree of competency and a minimum of complications.
Simply put, you will be taught how to apply your knowledge base to solve simple and more intricate problems.
Housing and living expenses may be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

Requirements
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is a student who has a strong interest in entering small animal practice after graduation. You should be interested in practicing evidence-based medicine and have a strong desire to continue your education while in practice.
